THREE DECADES OF EXCELLENCE IN COMPREHENSIVE ENGINEERING & HIGH-QUALITY MANUFACTURING SERVICES

Philor Engineering is a superior machining and fabrication provider, servicing national and international businesses by manufacturing proudly South African products.

Philor’s CNC machinery, or Computer Numerical Control machines, play a critical role in engineering and manufacturing. Philor’s products are designed, tested, and manufactured, to create high-quality parts which meet industry standards and the needs of our clients. While the engineering team consult on and design these parts using CAD and CAM software, the CNC machinery and the skilled operators bring these designs to life. CNC machines reduce production costs and waste, improve worker safety, reduce human error, and reduce bottlenecks.

CNC Turning Machine – Horizontal Turning Centre

Also referred to as a turning centre, a CNC turning machine is similar to a lathe, only more advanced. This machine is capable of facing, threading, knurling, boring, reaming, grooving, thread cutting, and taper turning. Philor’s five horizontal turning centres have a range of turning diameters from 3mm up to 500mm and a maximum length of 600mm. They also offer profile cutting up to 30mm mild steel plate with plasma on 3000m x 1500m bed.

CNC Milling Machine

A CNC milling machine, or a CNC machining centre, uses rotating multi-point cutting tools to remove material from the workpiece. These machines perform functions such as face milling, shoulder milling, tapping, and drilling. Philor has 4-axis and 5-axis machines capable of complex processes while preserving quality and accuracy. Our maximum machining travel is 720mm x 450mm.

CNC Plasma Profile Cutting Machine

CNC plasma cutters use a plasma torch to cut two-dimensional shapes into steel and other heavy metals. The heat and speed required to cut the metal are generated through a combination of electrical arcs and compressed air gas. The plasma is hot enough to cut the workpiece and fast enough to blow molten metal away from the cut.

CNC Laser Cutting Machine

Laser cutting machines are similar to plasma cutters, except they use a high-powered laser. The laser burns, melts, or vaporises the material, creating a mark, engraving, or cut. CNC laser cutters create highly accurate and intricate custom shapes with a high-quality finish.

CNC Bending Machine

CNC bending machines use a hydraulic press to bend cold metal sheets into the desired shape. Unlike conventional bending machines, CNC bending machines automate the bending process to form consistent bends and specific dimensions. They can produce complex components from a variety of metals.
